A girl who received a Master's in English Literature and turned down a PhD in English Literature to get another Master's in Japanese studies in order to pursue a PhD in Comparative literature! Sometimes some of us take a twisted path to achieve our goals. I created this sojourner as a place to write about the things that matter to me the most and as a creative space to produce content for those with similar interests.

My areas of academic interest include: critical theory, Modern Japanese Literature, global Anglophone literature, affect theory, trauma studies, the global network of ideas (specifically between Japan and the US/Europe), and transnationalism.
